Over the past couple of years, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has released a number of warnings about the potential danger of pure powdered caffeine. Despite these warnings, the use of powdered caffeine has gained in popularity, being readily available online.
Consuming too much caffeine can be toxic, leading to an increased risk of death or seizure. In fact, there were two reported deaths in 2014, from teenagers consuming toxic levels of caffeine. Death and seizure are not the only dangers of pure powdered caffeine:

Caffeine can act as a diuretic, helping your body flush waste from your body. When you have too much caffeine, diarrhea could occur. You may also experience excessive urination, depleting your body of water and causing you to become dehydrated.
#3 – Damage to the Reproductive System
If you are pregnant, your doctor will most likely recommend that you avoid caffeine, or at least use it in moderation. Caffeine can reach the placenta, which can slow fetal growth and may even increase your risk of experiencing a miscarriage. There have also been studies that show that consuming large amounts of caffeine can affect estrogen production.
#4 – Vomiting
Another one of the dangers of pure powdered caffeine is vomiting. As your body tries to expel the toxic levels of caffeine in your system, you may experience vomiting and intense nausea.
#5 – Rapid Heart Beat
Caffeine excites your nervous system, which gives you the boost of energy. Having too much caffeine can put more pressure on your heart, in order to keep up with the demands of the nervous system. This extra work can lead to a rapid heart beat and could be a serious problem for people with an existing heart condition.
#6 – Headaches
Drinking too much caffeine can lead to a headache, as can the sudden withdrawal of caffeine. Consuming pure powdered caffeine increases the risk of getting a headache, due to the effect that caffeine has on the brain. If you consume powdered caffeine, you will likely consume enough to result in a headache.
#7 – Increased Anxiety
The stimulant effect that caffeine has on the brain is incredibly pronounced when pure powdered caffeine is consumed. Having too much caffeine can exacerbate the symptoms of anxiety. If you suffer from anxiety, it is a good idea to limit your consumption of caffeine.
Naturally Increase Your Energy
There are plenty of healthy ways to get more energy. Even moderate consumption of coffee should provide you with enough of an energy boost from the caffeine to help you get through the day. Other options include drinking tea, getting moderate exercise, improving your heart health, and avoiding too much sugar.
The danger of pure powdered caffeine far exceeds the potential reward of increased energy. Avoid powdered caffeine and look for safer options to boost your energy.
