- Fresh Habanero Pepper (or find the hottest pepper you can)
- Garlic Bulb
- White Onion
- Ginger Root
- Horseradish Root
- Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
It is not by Dr Shultze’s original recipe but you may add Cayenne Pepper and Turmeric Root.
How to prepare:
Fill a glass bottle with herbs and pour apple cider vinegar to cover all the herbs. Let is sit up to 6 weeks, the longer it stays the stronger the tincture will be.
Take a large glass jar, somewhat around one gallon size and then peel and chop vegetables into it. Note that you are chopping onions and hot pepper and if you react to these vegetables, it is recommended you use gloves, to avoid skin rash. The smell may cause you cry.
Put everything in the jar and pour over with vinegar so the vinegar is two inches above the jar content. Place a firm lid, close it tightly and shake well daily. Let the tonic sit for a full moon cycle.
Next step is to strain the content. Probably the best way is to strain it through gauze and colander. Pour the tonic into several smaller jars and keep them in cool, dark place. Do not throw away the remains, you can either compost them or freeze and make a soup later using these veggies.
When your tonic is ready, start drinking it daily to improve your digestion, immune system or cure some other ailment. If you do not want your tonic to be too strong, try adding some honey into it. You must drink a lot of water throughout the day!
