If it is to believe the world’s most prestigious medical journal, fluoride is actually a neurotoxin, in the category as lead, mercury and arsenic.
There are five different similar industrial chemicals that are neurotoxicants, lead, methylmercury, polychlorinated biphenyls, arsenic, and toluene, according to a systematic review.
But, the new study shows that there are six more developmental neurotoxicants, manganese, fluoride, chlorpyrifos, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, tetrachloroethylene, and the polybrominated diphenyl ethers.
In the report is also stated that these neurotoxicants can lead to neurodevelopmental disabilities, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and other cognitive impairments.
Because all of this the movement to remove fluoride from water supplies is working hard and fast. Fluoride can be also found in some kinds of food, certain brands of tea and in toothpaste too.
People are so concerned that they are making homemade toothpaste that includes coconut oil, essential oils and other organic ingredients.
A Global Prevention Strategy
According to the Lancet, there is a strategy for preventing that says: “untested chemicals should not be presumed to be safe to brain development, and chemicals in existing use and all new chemicals must therefore be tested for developmental neurotoxicity. To coordinate these efforts and to accelerate the translation of science into prevention, we propose the urgent formation of a new international clearinghouse.”
The sad report of Harvard University meta-analysis states that children in areas where water is high in fluoride have “significantly lower” IQ scores that in areas where fluoride in the water was at low levels. Also, sodium fluoride in water supplies is very closely linked to various cancers.
